For managers and executives who are watching their employees struggle, there is a simple solution that can turn a workplace around in just twelve weeks—and grow the bottom line. The Inspiration Factor shows businesspeople how to inspire—not just motivate—others by tapping into their dreams and tying them to corporate goals. Along the way, those inspiring organizations make more money, have better employee retention, and earn greater customer loyalty than their competitors do.

Being authentic, seeing others’ abilities, connecting with other people’s dreams, and earning trust through credibility are some of the tenets of author Terry Barber’s program. To underscore the seven principles of inspiration he outlines, he offers real-life applications throughout the book based on his almost thirty years of experience. And to help leaders nail the art and science of identifying and applying their unique abilities to inspire others, he provides thought-provoking questions and concrete exercises that can be implemented the very day they open the book.

For leaders who question whether they and their teams are valuing the right things, focusing on the right priorities, and building a supportive environment, The Inspiration Factor offers confidence, personal fulfillment, and a more productive, happier workforce.

The Inspiration Factor How You Can Revitalize Your Company Culture in 12 Weeks eBook Terry Barber

This book took the mystery out what feels like a nebulous topic: inspiration.
It was a good read. Although insightful, it felt very much like common sense organized nicely so the information could be digested easily then applied readily. Application questions further underscored the pragmatism with which it was written.
Although I initially bought this for biz purposes, it is translatable to all aspects of life. I am already using some of the principles to better parent my kids. My tweenage daughter is practicing some of the principles to better hone her soft skills.

The Inspiration Factor How You Can Revitalize Your Company Culture in 12 Weeks eBook Terry Barber Reviews

There is a huge difference in motivating and inspiring as you will learn from Barber. Do you think you motivate your employees and family members by being strong, assertive and setting a good example? Are you passionate and compassionate about your work? Barber will tell you that you may not be cutting it! Demanding more of people because they haves potential and can do better may be driving those that you direct away. Barber makes his point from the get go that there is a huge difference in "motivation" and inspiration." People are driven by inspiration and he explains how that will help you get more from your employees and even family members. His techniques and education approach are insightful, creative, authentic; and genuinely can raise the bar for how you interact with people. It will also give people a different feel about you! He explains various leader types and allows you to select which one most appropriately fits you. How would you do if your employees gave you a personality profile review?
He explains how to adapt your leadership type to accomplish more and to bring out more of the best in the people you manage. He suggests how to connect with others dreams and aspirations. Barber teaches you to see in others abilities what they don't see in themselves. If you help people get what they want, you will not only get what you want...but much more. He discusses how to create a new corporate culture that stems from helping others achieve and reach their goals. This will set you apart from the other millions of ordinary, boring corporate cultures and managers that strive only to bleed the most out of employees for the sake of getting the job done, or for profit. The author inspires you to do more and to do it differently. He teaches how to create value in your relationships that become rewarding and long lasting. How do your subordinates really feel? You should want to know! Maybe it's time to ask and to be the inspiration they need. Share more of your true self. That wins! This book is revitalizing. You can't help but find yourself in it. I took away many ideas and found many ways to improve how I interact with not only employees, but friends, and family members.

I was given a complimentary review copy.
There are many companies that weathered the financial crisis over the past decade by retaining a staff that was fearful of making a change. With unemployment steadily declining, people are becoming more comfortable with the fact that they indeed have options. If they felt shackled during the downturn, recovering a sense of engagement is a tall order. Now that prosperity is returning, concerns about the (often clichéd) “War for Talent” are returning as the Baby Boomers’ exodus from the workforce accelerates.

With these two concerns in mind, leaders must seek to build a genuine and heart-felt buy-in with their workforce.

In “The Inspiration Factor”, Terry Barber provides a road-map by which you can turn your organization into a workplace in which employees are ‘inspired’ – inspired to engage, inspired to thrive, and inspired to be a champion for the organization. If people desire to work for you because they view you as a source of inspiration in their lives, you will have an easier time recruiting, and will improve your retention.

Barber provides a twenty question personality test to determine which of four ‘Inspiring Personality Types’ applies to you. With the knowledge of their own type, the reader will be able to interpret how they can apply the Seven Principles outlined in the ‘Factor’. In a group, or team-building setting, these personality types are useful in guiding the group in how they are inspired, and can be inspiring to others.

Please note that this is not a recipe that can be executed once, and placed on the shelf. After all, your company’s culture likely took years to mold. Leaders must choose to apply the Inspirational Principles on an ongoing basis. With this guidebook, you and your leaders will want to provide an Inspiring workplace…..and the business rewards will undoubtedly follow.
