In my opinion, there is only one thing worse than too little character development, and that’s too much character development. Entirely too much dialogue between the main characters and inner monologue especially Nila. The book was way too drawn out with too many coincidences, like the Calvary showing up at the last minute to save the day. Also, I won’t attack the premise of the book like some reviewers, since we all knew what we were in for before beginning the series. If you can’t accept the premise, then you should never see a Super Man movie, because there is no such thing as a Super hero that can fly.

Be careful to note this book is being labeled as a “Dark Romance” and not “Dark Erotica”. Other than the occasional sadistic acts perpetrated on Nila, that are well described, the sex scenes are far and few between and not very well described. If you are expecting a series similar to this authors’ “Monsters in the Dark”series, that I thoroughly enjoyed, you will be sadly disappointed. I place most of the blame on myself for reading this series with those expectations, and assuming it would be similar to her prior works.

Generally speaking, the series was well written, just not what I expected so maybe I caused my own disappointment.

Indebted Epilogue edition by Pepper Winters Romance eBooks Reviews

I loved the entire series. This Epilogue was nice to read because it answered most of my questions. However, it never addressed what happened to the law firm which helped Cut and his family continue on with these horrible acts. I thought Jethro had said a couple times in the book that he will take care of them later........ I am/was very curious.
I could not put this book or books down. This series is not for the faint of heart but it is a well written, great story, you are involved with every character and the roughest hardest love story to become a part of. During the story and the series you go thorough so many emotions but In the end you are all warm and fuzzy inside. Love it
The entire series of seven books is an awesome series of dark, erotic love presented in a most unusual way that is fascinating and kind of makes you wonder if this practice ever existed and if so how long ago? Pepper Winters is an excellent story teller and if you want sometime dark but fascinating you will not go wrong reading any of her books.
I've never seen an epilogue that needed its own whole book, but then, I've never seen one over 100 pages, either!
This is a nice wrap up to the Indebted series, especially if you have stuck with it through all 6 previous books. The book starts out shortly after the events of Indebted 6 - Final Debt, and tells about all of the many changes taking place around Hawksridge Hall after all the events that have happened. Commentaries are made from various characters' points of view.
Then the book moves to just more than three months later. More changes take place as everyone slowly sinks into the reality of a new normal. Life goes on and gets even better.
This is followed by events happening six months after that. Further things happen as Hawksridge has become a welcoming home for both Hawks and Weavers. Nila has been able to get back into her fashion business, and Jethro couldn't be more proud of her and the acclaim she receives and deserves. Jethro receives the happiest news he's ever had in his life.
Then it is three years later. Hawks and Weavers become even more of a family. They continue to remember loved ones left behind in the final battles, but more forward with ever more love and joy.
Lastly it is five and a half years later. Jethro and Nila are just as in love as ever, and it keeps getting stronger every day. Hurts and mistrust between the Hawk and Weaver families have faded to the past. But, as the old expression goes, "those that do not learn from history are destined to repeat it." Even although the awful Debt Inheritance has been sentenced to remain in the past forever, Jethro and Nila believe it is important to be honest about their past family history, and not hide it from the next generation. They must learn that the horrendous things that happened for so many hundreds of years must never happen again."All it takes is for one of us to be brave enough to turn on the light." Something for all of us to remember as we carry on with our own lives. If we don't like where we're at, it's up to us to change it. A perfect ending to a phenomenal series.
You are AWESOME for giving your readers 100 page freaking epilogue after that ride. It was so awesome to see Jethro and Nila get some space to breathe without torment, and I for one absolutely loved that you gave this story after 6 books of heartache, love, loss, and redemption. This will likely always be my favorite series within the Dark Romance market, and I was sad to see it end, but so, so grateful for this. 5 well deserved stars for the Epilogue to a series I shout out to everyone. Absolutely brilliant, Pepper. Thank you so much.
There are minor spoilers in this review.

Oh I loved this extended epilogue. It was the perfect mix of sexy and sweet. I kind of wish all of Pepper's books had longer epilogues like this one. It would be perfect for all her books. And if any of her characters deserve to live happily ever after it's definitely Nila and Jethro because of all the shit they went through.

This book takes place over the course of quite a few years. We see Jethro and Nila getting married, settling into their lives at Hawksridge Hall, having their first baby and a few years later their second. The names of their kids, Kestrel and Emma made me cry a little. I still miss Jethro's brother, Kes. We also see what life brings for Vaughn and Jasmine, which I thought was really nice because I've been shipping them every since they met. I'm glad they got their happily ever after as well. *cries some more*

This book isn't dark like the rest of the series. It focuses more on how happy Nila and Jethro are now and what life is bringing them. But there are a couple of very steamy scenes at least. I mean, it's still a story by Pepper Winters, so what did you expect? I just love the way she balances the sexy and sweet. It was perfection. And I'm already missing these characters.
